In the revolution of new energy, energy storage systems are emerging as the "power heart" for homes and businesses. However, system safety remains a core concern for users – including leakage, reverse power feeding, and islanding risks. How to mitigate these hazards? The innovative application of the NEB (Neutral-Earth Bonding) function is setting a new benchmark for energy storage safety. Particularly in markets with frequent grid fluctuations, such as African countries, this technology has become a safety imperative.
Usually, in a home or building installation, regular load appliances and EV charger together share the power limit from the grid; building load equipment is first priority, so the EV charger will need to limit its loading power dynamically according to variations of the building's load power in such cases. It ensures the load equipment operation meanwhile keeping the EV charged at maximum available power.
In the previous ATESS white paper, we have introduced the automatic power distribution function of the ATESS EV charger. There are usually household or office appliance in the installation site, and the installation is limited by the total power distribution capacity. Then what can we do to ensure normal use of the load and with the premise of not exceeding the total power? The key is that the EV charger needs to have dynamical adjusting function, to automatically tune the charging power according to the load capacity.
Energy storage system is playing an increasingly important role in the global energy market for load leveling, renewable energy cooperation, compensation of power line loss, power compensation, power quality improvement, stand-alone operation, and peak shaving. Distributed energy storage, as an important form of solar storage, shows a strong momentum of development in today’s market. Photovoltaic plus energy storage, with no doubt, will be the mainstream of future energy.
