A dedicated allocation of $1.2 billion in the 2025 national budget for energy storage, with emphasis on hybrid solar-plus-storage projects in the Atacama Desert region.

The development of the BESS del Desierto, a landmark 1GWh battery energy storage system aimed at reducing curtailment and stabilizing grid operations, representing one of Latin America’s most significant storage initiatives.

Comprehensive infrastructure plans leading up to 2030, including the construction of 6,184 km of ultra-high-voltage transmission lines and tenders for up to 5.9GW of energy storage capacity, demonstrating strong governmental support and market potential.
